ClassifiedPOSITION DESCRIPTION
This position provides basic custodial services at assigned buildings. Duties include, but are not limited to, a variety of tasks involving labor in the general care of buildings and grounds, including cleaning, minor repairs and maintenance of buildings. Primary responsibility is to use proper methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for the buildings and equipment to which assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card. Certificates, Licenses, Registration & Other Requirements Ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card. Ability to obtain and hold an Oregon Driver license. Ability to pass Vector training modules and custodial training as assigned.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes appropriate log(s), forms and paperwork as required. Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards immediately to lead custodian. Reports issues to lead custodian as necessary. Read and respond to email communication Assists other custodial/maintenance personnel, as necessary. Performs various building and grounds inspections as directed. Performs basic grounds keeping activities including, but not limited to leaf collection, spreading top dressing (mulch, chips, shavings, etc.), snow and ice removal/abatement, walkway clearing, and drainage maintenance. May perform routine maintenance and make minor repairs of custodial equipment. Unlock / lock doors, windows, and gates. Turns on/off lights and secures buildings for start/end of day. Cleans, sanitizes areas (i.e. classrooms, halls, offices, restrooms, cafeteria, etc.), vacuums, shampoos, sweeps, scrubs, waxes, polishes, and mops/buffs all types of floor surfaces. Operates and maintains sweepers and other power equipment used in custodial work (buffer, carpet steamer, vacuum(s), auto scrubber, and power washer) to ensure they work effectively and safely. Keeps walkways, parking areas and entrances clean and clear of debris. Sets up, takes down and moves tables, chairs, equipment, shelving and partitions for meetings, athletic events and other District functions as assigned, including weekend events. Washes windows, whiteboards, chalk boards and walls. Cleans and polishes furniture, windows, metal work and computer screens. Maintains indoor and outdoor lighting. Collects and empties all recycling and waste containers in a safe and sanitary manner. Washes, scrubs, and disinfect restrooms as well as cleans doors, door handles, sinks, fixtures, panels, and drinking fountains daily. Performs a variety of basic maintenance duties including, but not limited to, unplugging sink drains, door maintenance, and painting. Cleans up spills (including bodily fluids) in a safe and appropriate manner. Responds to special requests for custodial services from staff members. Other related duties may be assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ELEMENTS
Normal school building environments. The employee may be exposed to bodily fluids, bloodborne pathogens, sick and/or contagious students and staff. The employee will be exposed to toxic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles. All duties to be performed within health, safety standards as established by local and state OSHA and school district emergency procedures. The employee regularly will work indoors and occasionally outdoors, including during hot, cold, dry, or wet weather conditions. The employees will work near or with moving mechanical equipment and work in high and or tight workplaces. The employee will work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, disinfectants, and sprays. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees may be required to be available for duties on weekends and evenings assigned.
