THE POSITION

South Mountain Restoration Center is seeking a reliable Custodial Worker 1 to help maintain a clean and welcoming setting for residents, visitors, and staff. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized spaces throughout the facility to support health and comfort for all. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
Floor Care:
Clean floors by mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and vacuuming in assigned areas
Surface Cleaning:
Wash and polish furniture, walls, baseboards, radiators, and other fixtures
Linen Tasks:
Prepare and deliver personal clothing, tablecloths, napkins, and clothing protectors
Equipment Use:
Operate manual and mechanical cleaning equipment safely by following departmental procedures
Area Cleaning:
Clean dining rooms, kitchens, lavatories, trash receptacles, and designated indoor and outdoor locations
Special Tasks:
Move and lift furniture, replace light bulbs, and assist with simple repairs and supply requests Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Willingness and ability to work in Franklin County, Pennsylvania Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, or buffing) Custodial or housekeeping work experience in a hospital, nursing home, correctional facility, fast food facility, restaurant, cafeteria, or school Work experience collecting and disposing of infectious waste into proper storage areas Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors Work experience in the following tasks: operating a floor scrubbing machine, using ladders to clean high areas, proper handling of cleaning chemicals, interacting with patients or residents, snow removal from walkways and entrances, changing light bulbs, cleaning furniture, mopping (wet or dry), and scrubbing
