Where You'll Work St. Joseph Health has been caring for the communities in and surrounding the Brazos Valley since 1936 (Bryan/College Station, Navasota, Caldwell, Madisonville (TX)). St. Joseph has a Level III Trauma Center, the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley. The network includes more than 30 ambulatory clinics featuring Primary Care, Express Clinics and Imaging and Diagnostic Services. Job Summary and Responsibilities Responsible for completing as assigned, daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection ofpatient care areas, equipment, and other common areas. Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements. Displays safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment. Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety. Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics. Sanitize and disinfect specific areas such as patient rooms, nurse's stations, waiting areas, meeting rooms, offices, corridors, and common areas Contribute to hospital efficiency and integrity by maintaining quality cleanliness in accordance with hospital and CDC guidelines Understand and utilize all safety guidelines and procedures when using cleaning chemicals and disposing of hazardous materials Inventory and ensure proper storage of hazardous materials for ignitability (flammable), corrosivity (rust), reactivity (explosive), toxicity (poison), etc. Appropriately display signs to prevent injuries of patients, employees, and visitors such as slips and/or falls
Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications Preferred:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
