What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain the district's standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Job Requirements- Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects if required.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Exhibits good judgment in decision making and problem solving.
- Demonstrates proper equipment care, proper use of equipment, and maintenance.
- Follows all safety procedures and district standards.
- Assists with opening and/or closing buildings each school day.
- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
- Represents a positive role model for students and conveys a positive image for staff and community
