A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The Club at Glenmore, located approximately five miles east of Charlottesville on rt. 250, is currently seeking a part time Custodian with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and pleasant demeanor. This position is for two days per week, Sunday and Monday, from 5am-1pm. The duties are typical basic custodial work within the clubhouse/fitness and pool and in the on-course restrooms, but the days/hours required are specific.
Duties include:
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas so that health and cleanliness standards are met Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers Empty and clean wastebaskets and recycling receptacles and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines Dust and polish furniture and equipment Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary Replace linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
