Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Day Porter to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance across our commercial and residential properties. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle chemical agents safely, following all protocols for storage, usage, and disposal to ensure a safe working environment. Operate floor buffers and other floor care machinery to maintain polished and well-maintained flooring surfaces. Conduct industrial cleaning tasks such as deep cleaning of carpets, upholstery, and hard surfaces to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Assist with custodial responsibilities in both commercial and residential settings, including light maintenance and minor repairs as needed. Engage in manual handling activities involving heavy lifting or moving supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Support facilities maintenance by performing routine inspections, minor repairs, and reporting larger issues requiring specialized attention. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial environments is highly preferred. Proven ability to handle chemical agents safely with knowledge of proper storage and disposal procedures. Experience operating floor buffers and performing various floor care techniques such as buffing and polishing. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques in compliance with safety standards is essential. Background in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance will be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks efficiently while maintaining safety protocols. Previous porter or maintenance roles that involved custodial duties and basic repairs will strengthen your application.
