A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Custodian/Janitor (1st Shift, Full-Time) $17.00-$20.00/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY
: Under the direction of the Maintenance Team Lead, the building custodian is responsible for cleaning the facility and maintaining janitorial supplies. Will also be responsible for seasonal grounds keeping and building repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Empty work centers chip and dispose of contents in the recycling dumpsters. 2. When the dumpsters are full, make arrangements to have emptied. 3. Custodial duties such as sweep the shop floor with floor sweeper and scrubber, empty waste baskets, clean the breakroom, and restrooms, etc. 4. Clean drains, restrooms, coolant, waste oils, etc. 5. Maintain the janitorial supplies including cleaners, paper products, etc. 6. Take care of the recycling for the building; plastic, aluminum cans, newspaper, etc. 7. Assist maintenance personnel with the grounds work and building repairs including seasonal work of shoveling snow and cutting grass. 8. May operate other equipment such as forklift, scissor lift and skid steer. 9. Fill soap dispensers in the restrooms. 10. May be asked to help in production as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Prior experience as a custodian in a manufacturing setting is preferred
