What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Plant Custodian Position Summary:
The Plant Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and organization of our industrial facilities and steel yard. This includes performing routine cleaning tasks, managing waste disposal, and monitoring safety protocols. The position requires a commitment of eight-hour shifts, with flexible scheduling Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
Clean main isles and walkways Dispose of scrap steel and wood Clean shot around blasters Utilize manual magnetic floor sweeper Operate ride-on industrial floor sweeper Empty trash barrels Clean restrooms, showers, locker rooms We at Merrill Steel have been working hard to make sure that our company is a place you want to come to work at each day. Over the past few years, we have initiated a lot of change. The next generation of ownership has become an ever-growing presence at the company. Our Plant Manager, Supervisors, and Leads meet with Human Resources on a weekly basis to talk about ways to improve our shop culture. We even have a Production HR Facilitator whose office is located out in the shop to easily assist employees.

Pay:
$20.00 - $23.60 per hour
