Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure that all areas are hygienic, organized, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and committed to upholding high standards of sanitation and safety. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely following established safety protocols and handling procedures. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting restrooms, kitchens, and common areas regularly. Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting facility issues requiring professional repair. Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities. Skills Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial or residential cleaning procedures. Strong understanding of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools effectively. Excellent manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy objects or supplies. Good customer service skills to interact politely with staff and visitors when necessary. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs or troubleshooting minor issues. Attention to detail with a focus on sanitation, cleanliness, and safety compliance at all times.
