Job Description

  • Job Overview:
  • We are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to join our team as a Big E Fair Worker.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our concession stands during the Big E Fair. If you have a passion for working in the food service industry and enjoy interacting with people, this role may be the perfect fit for you.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and serving guests promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for our customers by adhering to food safety and handling guidelines.
  • Operate a cash register, handle cash and credit transactions, and balance the cash register at the end of each shift.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages according to our menu and recipes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including food preparation and storage areas.
  • Assist with food preparation and replenishment as needed.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and supplies throughout the fair.
  • Provide support with bussing and cleaning the dining area.
  • Upsell and promote our products and services to customers.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the success of our concession stand.
  • Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in a quick service or fast food restaurant or grocery store is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures is essential.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with cash handling and point-of-sale systems, including Aloha POS.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Skills:
  • Food handling and preparation
  • Cash handling and POS experience
  • Experience working in a grocery store or quick service fast food restaurant
  • Bussing and cleaning skills
  • Knowledge of food safety guidelines
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Aloha POS
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
  • High school diploma or equivalent required Hours will be 4pm-10pm in the better living center. Candidates will be screened on what hours are best for them to work Sept. 18
