Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Washer of Dishes to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment, creating a safe and efficient environment for food preparation and service. Your energetic approach will help maintain high standards of hygiene, support food safety protocols, and contribute to the overall success of our food service operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting culinary excellence in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Thoroughly wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following established food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, and surrounding areas to uphold sanitation standards. Properly handle manual tasks such as loading and unloading dish racks and operating dishwashing machinery. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting with the organization of dining areas during service hours. Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or equipment in compliance with safety guidelines. Experience Prior experience in food handling or food service environments is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided. Familiarity with sanitation practices, including food safety management and kitchen health standards. Experience operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers or related machinery is advantageous. Knowledge of basic knife skills and general kitchen safety procedures is a plus. Previous banquet or catering experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service periods.
