Job Description

A daycare kitchen cook is responsible for preparing healthy, safe, and nutritious meals and snacks for children in a daycare or early learning center. This role helps support children's growth and development by providing balanced meals while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks for children according to the daycare's menu and nutrition guidelines Follow portion sizes appropriate for young children Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, and food preparation areas Maintain an organized kitchen and properly store food items Monitor food inventory and inform staff when supplies need to be reordered Accommodate food allergies and special dietary needs of children Assist with planning nutritious weekly menus if needed Follow local health department regulations and daycare policies
Qualifications:
Experience in cooking or food preparation preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to work independently and stay organized Ability to prepare meals for groups of children efficiently Friendly, reliable, and dependable Must pass required background checks (depending on state regulations)

Time management Organization Attention to cleanliness and safety Basic nutrition knowledge Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Pay:
$15.00 - $15.50 per hour
