Galley Hatch Restaurant - Hampton, NH Base Pay + Tips - A Great First Restaurant Job! Galley Hatch Restaurant is looking for energetic and dependable Expos (Food Expediters) to join our team! If you're looking to get started in the restaurant industry, this is a great opportunity to learn how a busy restaurant operates while working alongside both our culinary and front-of-house teams. Previous restaurant experience is not required — we're willing to train the right person. In addition to your base hourly pay, this position also earns tips , providing an opportunity to make additional income as part of our service team. What Does an Expo Do? The Expo is the connection between the kitchen and our front-of-house team. You'll help make sure every plate leaving the kitchen is accurate, looks great, and gets to the correct guest as quickly as possible. During a busy service, you'll work directly with cooks, servers, managers, and other team members to keep food moving and provide our guests with a great dining experience. What You'll Do Organize and coordinate completed food orders before they leave the kitchen Check orders for accuracy, quality, presentation, and any special guest requests Communicate with cooks and other kitchen team members regarding order timing and missing items Coordinate with servers and other front-of-house team members to ensure food reaches guests promptly Assist with garnishing and final plate presentation according to restaurant standards Read and organize order tickets while managing multiple orders at the same time Pay close attention to modifications, allergies, and special requests Help ensure all items for a table are completed and ready for service together Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expo station Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures Communicate order issues or delays quickly and professionally Assist with stocking and preparing the expo station before and during service Support the kitchen and front-of-house teams wherever needed during busy service periods Complete opening and closing responsibilities as assigned What We're Looking For No previous restaurant experience required Great opportunity for someone looking for their first restaurant job Dependable and punctual Strong communication skills Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy periods Positive attitude and willingness to learn Comfortable working as part of a team Ability to take direction and communicate professionally with coworkers Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require Compensation This position offers competitive base hourly pay plus tips .
