The CSRM Kitchen Staff works closely under the direction of the Kitchen Manager to produce two meals per weekday at the Soup Kitchen at 30 Main, Rapid City, Men's Shelter location/
Summary:
The CSRM Kitchen Staff, under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, prepares and participate in all phases of meal production at the Soup Kitchen at 30 Main (Men's Shelter), including facility prep, and safely using kitchen equipment to prepare and serve food, while complying with all food prep and serve regulations. Clean-up duties are assigned daily, including cleaning and preparing all equipment for the next meal.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working with non-profit Christian ministries a plus. Preferential consideration given to those with training or experience in the meal preparation and delivery for large groups. CSRM Managment reserves the right to consider any combination of education and experience when evaluating candidates for this position.

Essential Functions:

Maintain an organized inventory pantry of food on a daily basis Work dilligently in the kitchen with a team approach to meal production Flexible to rearrange meals as donations come in to ensure the least amount of food waste. Ensure kitchen supplies and food prep procedures conform to all legal requirements of food preparation, as directed by Kitchen Manager. Follow all applicable safety and health regulations for public cooking facilities, as directed by the Kitchen Manager. Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch meals for approximatly 150 people each meal, with specific duties assigned daily by the Kitchen Manager. Make sack lunches, according to sign up sheet provided by the Supervisors. Work with employees, volunteers, and Mission Service workers, to properly clean all equipment, dishes, and utensils after meals, as needed on a daily basis. Interact with kitchen staff while modeling a Christ-like attitude toward work. Other duties as the need arises.
Required Work Hours:
CSRM Kitchen Staff may be a full or part-time position. Full time works forty (40) hours/week, 6am - 2pm ( flexible according to coverage); Part-time positions are scheduled 20-32 hours per week.
Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities:
The CSRM Kitchen Staff reports to the Kitchen Manager and the Head Supervisor at 30 Main (Men's Shelter). There are no supervisory repsosibilities for the entry- level role.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Exposure to temperature extremes working in Freezer and Refridgerator Units.
