Job Description

Responsibilities :
Monitor activities in the water to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of swimmers. Enforce rules and regulations to prevent injuries or accidents. Supervise swimmers and provide quick response in case of emergencies. Rescue distressed swimmers, provide first aid or CPR if necessary. Maintain order around pool or water areas, preventing risky behavior. Inspect safety equipment such as life vests, lifeboats, and first aid supplies. Communicate with other lifeguards or supervisors to report incidents or unsafe conditions. Conduct regular patrols of the area, ensuring that water conditions are safe. Assist with pool maintenance tasks such as testing water pH levels and ensuring cleanliness.
Qualifications :
Certification in lifeguarding (such as Red Cross Lifeguard Certification). CPR and First Aid Certification. Strong swimming skills and physical fitness. Excellent observation and decision-making abilities. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong communication skills for interacting with swimmers and enforcing rules.
Work Environment :
Work may take place in indoor pools or outdoor swimming facilities. Lifeguards may work in various weather conditions, including sun, rain, or wind in outdoor settings. Must be comfortable standing or sitting for extended periods and remaining alert at all times.
Terms of Employment:
Seasonal position - $16.54/hour
