Lifeguard (Callicoon Hills Hotel)

About the role Callicoon Hills is a boutique hotel and retreat nestled in New York's Catskill Mountains, offering guests an escape defined by nature, calm, and authentic hospitality. We're looking for a certified, attentive, and guest-oriented Lifeguard to join our team and ensure a safe, welcoming pool environment for all guests.

Schedule:

Weekends + select weekdays Employment type: Seasonal, hourly What you'll do Monitor the pool area continuously to ensure guest safety and enforce pool rules Perform water rescues and administer first aid/CPR when needed Conduct opening and closing procedures for the pool area Maintain cleanliness and safety of the pool deck and surrounding areas Assist with pool chemical testing and record keeping Greet guests warmly and respond to questions or requests in a courteous manner Report safety hazards, incidents, or accidents to management promptly Ensure compliance with all NY State health and safety regulations What we're looking for Current American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard certification — required Deep water lifeguarding certification — required (included in most standard Red Cross Lifeguard certifications) Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification — required Prior lifeguarding experience preferred; pool or hospitality setting a plus Strong observation skills and ability to remain alert for extended periods Friendly, professional demeanor with a genuine care for guest experience Ability to stand, walk, and sit outdoors for extended periods in varying weather Must be at least 16 years of age Reliable transportation to Callicoon, NY Why Callicoon Hills Beautiful Catskills property with a close-knit, hospitality-forward team Hourly pay: $18-$20/hr based on experience Callicoon Hills is an equal opportunity employer.
