Job Description

JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS
Must be a capable and proficient swimmer, as well as, lifeguard and CPR certified professional. Must be self-motivated; customer/member focused and organized in approach to daily responsibilities.
CERTIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
Lifeguard (American Red Cross) certification CPR/AED Certification (possess either: a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, not exceeding one year in duration, in CPR for the Professional Rescuer issued by the American Red Cross (ARC); or a current CPR certificate, not exceeding one year in duration, issued by American Heart Association)
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Create a fun and socially rewarding environment for members and their guests. Enforce pool policies, rules, and regulations in a personable and professional manner. Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately in the event of an emergency. Provide emergency care and treatment as required. Perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid. Provide for the health and safety of swimmers, including ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards and that materials and equipment are safe. Maintain cleanliness and safety of pool and equipment. Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service. Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled by the Aquatic Manager. Complete additional duties as assigned.
