Growth opportunities o you love to swim?! Pengu Swim School may be the place for you! Pengu Swim School is looking for active, energetic, and highly accountable people to fill our Instructor position. The position is available in multiple locations including Houston-Central, Katy (Cinco Ranch), Sugar Land (Riverstone), and our newest location, Cypress (Towne Lake). The Instructor position is responsible for teaching children ages 4 month to 12 years' safety skills, confidence and technique using the Pengu Curriculum.
Qualifications:
  • Provide training direction, encouragement, and motivation to swimmers
  • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations
  • Monitor swimming area and respond in the event of an emergency
  • Evaluate swimmers' skills and performance
  • Adjust coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of swimmers
  • Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, philosophies relevant to the Pengu Swim School Swim Program
  • Communicate with participants and parents to provide information and answer questions
  • Keep and review records of swimmers' progress
  • Swim Instructors are the first person responsible for the safey of their students. Never take your eyes off your students for more than five seconds while they are in the water
  • Swim Instructors should make sure their class starts promptly and stops on time
  • Swim Instructors should have all necessary tools and equipment to its proper location after class
  • Swim Instructors should always follow Pengu Swim School's class curriculum for lessons. Swim Instructors should know all skills associated with each level.
  • Swim Instructors should use positive reinforcement
  • Swim Instructors should introduce themselves to their students and know each student by name as well
  • Facility maintenance and cleaning
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Job Qualifications:
Experience:
At least one year of aquatic experience
Certification:
Current American Red Cross CPR, and First-Aid Certification Skills:

  • Communication
