Ski patrol provides first aid, rescue, and transport to those in need.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond to medical emergencies on the mountain, transporting injured guests off of the mountain. Administer first aid, if necessary. Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the Resort ski area. Maintain Resort ski area signs, ropes, and padding. Educate guests on proper conduct and safety measures. Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and timely. Perform sweeps at the end of the day to ensure that all guests and employees are safely off the mountain. Special duties may include performing chair lift evacuations, search and rescue, and avalanche mitigation. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be at least 18 years of age. Current CPR and EMT certification is required. Must demonstrate advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding ability to safely navigate any area of the mountain in all weather and snow conditions Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a strong work ethic and self-motivation. Must work well with a team and collaborate with others regularly. Must be committed to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees. Must have a working knowledge of all emergency and evacuation procedures. Must exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50+ lbs. Must be able to work for an extended period of time in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and/or wind. Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period of time.
