Director of House Operations Description of Position:

Housekeepers ensure that TLC residents have an opportunity to live independently within a supportive community by providing a clean and sanitary environment, with a dedication to service and a strong work ethic. Housekeepers must follow specific directions and cleaning schedules, as cleaning chemicals are potentially dangerous and must be handled properly to avoid injury. Must be ambulatory, able to transfer up to 50lbs., bend to the floor, reach above head level, and perform repetitive movements. Must able to read, write, speak and comprehend English well.

Responsibilities:

1. Possesses an attention to detail and processes 2. Maintains all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition 3. Familiarity and education with cleaning and disinfecting materials 4. Familiarity and education with cleaning tools, i.e., vacuum cleaners and carpet shampooers 5. Performs housekeeping duties including changing bedlinens, vacuuming carpets, floor cleaning/mopping/sweeping, dusting and polishing furniture, washing windows/glass/mirrors 6. Cleans sinks, tubs, showers and toilets according to sanitary standards 7. Empty and clean trash cans throughout facility 8. Sorts and washes laundry using machines and proper infection control processes 9. Folding and distributes clean linens and clothing 10. Handles/disposes/disinfects areas of various human body waste 11. Maintains clean storage area for equipment and supplies 12. Observes and reports any maintenance issues 13. Keep cleaning equipment in good working order 14. Performs other duties as requested.
