Maintain sanitation standards by properly handling chemical agents and disinfectants following OSHA guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure environmental safety. Utilize proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning supplies, laundry loads, and floor care equipment to prevent injury. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and scrubbers to achieve optimal cleanliness across all facility areas. Follow strict safety protocols during all tasks to minimize hazards related to chemical handling, heavy lifting, and environmental services. Support infection prevention efforts by maintaining high standards of cleanliness in healthcare facilities housekeeping practices aligned with healthcare infection control guidelines. Skills Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety procedures, and environmental services in healthcare settings. Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or healthcare facilities housekeeping with a focus on sanitation and infection control. Familiarity with laundry processes including sorting, washing with appropriate chemicals, drying, folding, and distribution. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively while maintaining the facility's cleanliness standards. Strong understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects or loads to prevent injury during manual handling tasks. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with residents and staff while addressing their needs courteously. Experience working in hospital or skilled nursing environments is highly desirable for understanding healthcare-specific sanitation requirements.
