Overview Join our dedicated healthcare environment as a Housekeeping/Laundry Aide, where your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness play a vital role in creating a safe, sanitary, and welcoming space for patients, staff, and visitors. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene across healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and infection prevention guidelines. Your efforts directly contribute to a healthy environment that promotes healing and well-being for all. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, and administrative spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing in accordance with healthcare standards. Adhere to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and safety protocols during all cleaning and manual handling tasks to prevent accidents and injuries. Safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools to maintain facility cleanliness. Manage chemical agents responsibly by handling cleaning solutions and disinfectants following proper chemical handling procedures to ensure safety for staff and patients. Follow strict sanitation procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control practices to minimize the risk of cross-contamination. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or laundry carts to prevent injury. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, sanitation activities, and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with health standards. Requirements Prior experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning is highly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and chemical handling is essential. Experience with laundry operations within a healthcare or similar setting is advantageous. Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely while understanding environmental services best practices. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely in accordance with safety protocols. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and visitors when needed. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare infection prevention measures and sanitation standards. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a lively work pace in a team-oriented environment.
