Job Description

Position Summary The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and presentable guest and public areas throughout the hotel, including corridors, foyers, stairwells, hallways, and vending areas. This position supports Room Attendants by delivering supplies, removing soiled linen and trash, assisting with room setup, and performing other housekeeping duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, hotel policies, procedures, safety requirements, and service standards. 2. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of guest corridors, hallways, stairwells, foyers, vending areas, elevators, and other assigned public areas. 3. Vacuum, sweep, mop, clean, and spot-clean assigned areas, including walls, doors, carpets, mirrors, room numbers, and elevator surfaces. 4. Stock linen closets and housekeeping carts with linen, amenities, and supplies and deliver supplies to Room Attendants as needed. 5. Remove and properly dispose of trash and soiled linen from Room Attendant carts and designated areas. 6. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly and according to product instructions and applicable safety requirements. 7. Assist with mattress rotation, furniture movement, drapery installation, and other housekeeping projects as assigned. 8. Prepare, transport, and set up cribs and rollaway beds in guest rooms. 9. Assist Room Attendants and other housekeeping team members with operational needs to maintain department standards. 10. Respond professionally to guest questions and provide assistance, directions, and hotel information as requested. 11. Immediately report suspicious activity, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or other unusual conditions to the appropriate supervisor or department. 12. Follow safety procedures in stairwells, fire exits, and other designated areas and assist with guest safety during emergencies as directed. 13. Turn in all Lost and Found items immediately in accordance with hotel procedures. 14. Assist with department training and maintain professional communication with guests, team members, and management. 15. Protect guest, team member, and company property and maintain confidentiality of information entrusted to the position. 16. Demonstrate and promote KLECH core values and MAD skills. 17. Attend and successfully complete all required training. 18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of housekeeping, sanitation, cleaning chemicals, stain removal, and housekeeping equipment. Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, product labels, and emergency directions. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with supervisors and team members. Strong guest-service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with guests, team members, and management. Ability to communicate effectively in English for safety, security, and guest-service purposes. Spanish or another language is a plus.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

No regular supervisory responsibilities. Provides assistance and support to Room Attendants and other housekeeping team members as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Basic knowledge of sanitation and safe use of cleaning chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or hotel experience. Experience with stain removal, cleaning equipment, and housekeeping procedures. Bilingual English/Spanish.

Physical Requirements The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and other physical activities associated with housekeeping operations. Must be able to perform housekeeping functions as needed and maintain mobility for extended periods. Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires adequate vision, hearing, communication, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity to perform essential duties. Work Environment Work is performed throughout hotel guestrooms, corridors, stairwells, public areas, housekeeping and laundry areas, offices, and other operational spaces. The position may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, wet surfaces, laundry equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and other normal hotel conditions. Work schedules may include early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended or irregular hours based on business needs. The position may involve contact with guests or team members experiencing difficult or stressful situations. Health, Safety and Conduct Requirements The team member must follow all Hotel health and safety requirements, properly use and care for assigned personal protective equipment, immediately report defective or missing equipment, and comply with applicable hygiene, exposure-control, emergency-response, security, and workplace-conduct procedures. A professional, service-focused presence is required at all times. Conditions of Employment Employment is subject to successful completion of any required background checks and required licensing. The team member is responsible for keeping all required documents current and valid. Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have access to reliable transportation to commute to and from work. Must comply with the KLEH Handbook, internal policies and procedures, applicable safety and security requirements, and applicable gaming regulations.
