Duties Perform floor cleaning and maintenance using appropriate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and buffers to ensure spotless surfaces in guest rooms, hallways, and public areas. Handle various cleaning tasks including dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and waste disposal to uphold sanitation standards across the property. Manage laundry operations by sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms efficiently and accurately. Safely handle chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure proper chemical handling procedures. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to linen carts, cleaning equipment, or supplies while adhering to manual handling safety protocols. Support hotel housekeeping management by ensuring all cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained in good condition and properly stored. Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary, including responding swiftly to incidents or hazards to maintain guest safety. Qualifications Previous janitorial or custodial experience within a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred. Knowledge of floor care techniques including vacuuming, polishing, and deep cleaning methods. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, steam cleaners, and industrial vacuums. Ability to handle chemical agents safely in accordance with SDS guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards guests and team members. Understanding of hotel housekeeping management practices and sanitation standards is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
