Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deli associate to lead our deli department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and customer service, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and safety. As the Deli associate , you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional product quality, and foster a positive work environment while delivering outstanding customer experiences. Duties Manage all aspects of deli operations, including production, staffing, and inventory management. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Oversee the preparation of a variety of products. Train and mentor deli staff in food production techniques, customer service skills, and safety protocols. Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth operations. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly. Requirements Proven experience in a deli or supermarket setting. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Strong leadership abilities to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays during peak seasons. Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years professional experience. Preferred 3-5 years grocery retail experience in Deli department processes and procedures. Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail sales is highly desirable Familiarity with POS systems is a plus Must be able to lift 50 pounds. In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
Hand use:
single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
Work requires the following motions:
bending, twisting, squatting and reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
Exposure to temperatures:
<32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work in wet and dry conditions. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery. May require use of ladders.
