Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions, ensuring safety and comfort Assist with patient transfers using safe handling techniques and transfer methods appropriate for each individual's needs Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and safeguarding medical records and sensitive information Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care across acute, long-term, or community-based settings Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner is a plus Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting and safe lifting practices Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatric and geriatric populations—and coordinate with healthcare teams Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and compassionate caregiving Join us in delivering exceptional care that improves lives every day!
