JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
Assist the driver in maintaining discipline on the school bus; monitor and assist students while the bus is in operation. Consult with and assist bus driver in documentation of student information, recordkeeping and completing routes. Assuring seat belts, harnesses are secured as required. Assist parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students. Communicate with classroom aides, teachers, directors, and parents concerning student background, medical problems and behavior as appropriate. Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures. Assure responsible adult meets students leaving the bus. Attend in-service meetings and training courses as assigned. Maintain regular attendance. Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills with teachers, children, parents and other childcare workers. Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents. Knowledge of transportation and childcare principles and procedures. Obtain certification in CPR and First Aide within 6 month of employment; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary. Ability to communicate with young children at their level.
