Job Description

A growing School Bus Transportation company is seeking an experienced, proactive Road Safety Supervisor to join our expanding Safety Department. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between our company and local School Districts , while helping manage critical New York State Article 19-A compliance . The ideal candidate will be a highly visible, positive presence in the field—actively engaging with school officials, parents, and terminal staff to ensure the highest standards of student safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities District & Community Liaison:
Serve as a visible, trusted presence in the District. Maintain strong, professional relationships with School Officials, Parents, Students, Drivers, Monitors, Dispatchers, and the Terminal Manager.
Compliance Management:
Ensure all school bus drivers and monitors strictly adhere to state DOT and Article 19-A regulations. 19-
A Administration:
Maintain and administer 19-A testing and documentation for employees (if currently certified, or upon obtaining certification).
Safety Training:
Train and mentor new and existing staff on safe driving protocols, defensive driving techniques, and student management.
Incident Response & Investigation:
Promptly respond to all roadway accidents or incidents. Conduct thorough safety violation investigations and implement corrective action plans.
Qualifications Licensing:
Must possess a valid, clean Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
Experience:
2+ years of experience as a School Bus Driver, Safety Trainer, or working directly within the 19-A compliance field (preferred).
Certifications:
19-A Certified Examiner credentials preferred. We will sponsor the right candidate to obtain this certification.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Skills:
Exceptional communication skills with a personable, approachable demeanor. Must be highly flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Salary negotiable based on experience
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
