Job Description

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform specialized work in organizing and supervising programs of play and recreational activities for children and adults at parks and playgrounds. The work responsibilities include organizing and instructing classes as well as other playground and indoor activities, maintaining safety and health standards at playgrounds, to include first aid, issuing/collecting athletic and recreational equipment, promoting interest in the overall program and special activities, and performing related work as required. This classification reports to the Recreation Specialist. Must be able to perform certain activities such as coaching, arts and crafts, etc.
