Job Description
Marana is one of the fastest growing communities in Southern Arizona, located approximately 20 minutes northwest of downtown Tucson and 75 minutes southeast of Phoenix. Dedicated Service, Respect, Teamwork and Engaged Innovation. The Town of Marana is seeking Recreation Aides to work in the Parks and Recreation Department. This is a short-term temporary position and an exciting opportunity to provide support to recreation staff to ensure the best delivery of recreation programs. This position will primarily be stationed at the front desk of the Marana Aquatics and Recreation Center (MARC), serving as the first point of contact for visitors and providing exceptional customer service. Pursuant to the Marana Town Code, Sections 3-1-2(D) and 3-1-3(B), and the current Salary Schedule implemented by the Town Manager, the position of Recreation Aide is defined as an Unclassified position. Unclassified positions are at-will employees and employment that may be terminated upon the will of the employer or employee at any time with or without cause.SCHEDULE
This position works a variable schedule based on operational needs, for up to 19 hours per week. Early mornings, late evenings, Saturday, Sunday and holiday shifts may be assigned. Weekday availability between 5:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. is required, evening and weekend shifts on occasion. Scheduled shifts will vary within this timeframe.DURATION
Temporary Fall season role; extension possible based on performance and business needs into next season.Fall Season:
August 1- November 30
Winter Season:
December 1- February 28
Summer Season:
March 1- July 31
