We're looking for an enthusiastic Activity Assistant who is ready to turn ordinary days into extraordinary memories for our amazing residents. If you're someone who enjoys music, games, crafts, celebrations, conversation, and creating smiles, this may be the perfect career for you! What You'll Be Doing No two days are ever the same! As an Activity Assistant, you'll help create fun, engaging experiences while building meaningful relationships with our residents. You'll get to: Plan and lead exciting daily activities including: Arts & crafts Bingo and games Exercise and movement classes Music and sing-alongs Baking and cooking activities Holiday parties and themed events Outdoor walks and gardening Movie afternoons Pet visits Special entertainment and community outings Spend one-on-one quality time with residents who prefer quieter activities or need extra encouragement. Create an atmosphere where every resident feels included, valued, and excited to participate. Work alongside caregivers and nurses to ensure activities are enjoyable, safe, and personalized to each resident's abilities and interests. Document resident participation and share observations with the care team. Help decorate for holidays, birthdays, and special events that make our community feel like home. Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas while keeping supplies organized. More Than Activities At Gardens Care, we believe everyone works together to provide exceptional care. As part of our team, you may also: Assist residents with basic Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) when needed. Offer encouragement and emotional support. Help residents safely get to and from activities. Report any changes in resident condition to the nursing or leadership team. Build genuine friendships with the people you care for every day. Who We're Looking For You don't have to be a professional entertainer—you just have to enjoy making people happy! We're looking for someone who is: Positive and energetic Compassionate and patient Friendly and outgoing Creative and full of ideas Comfortable leading small groups A great communicator A supportive team player Flexible and willing to jump in wherever needed Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Previous experience in activities, recreation, caregiving, customer service, childcare, education, hospitality, or senior living is preferred—but we're happy to train the right person! Experience working with seniors or individuals living with dementia is a plus. CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to work independently while also being a dependable team member. Physical Requirements This is an active role!
You should be able to:
