SCOPE OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator, the Fitness Lead serves as the primary support position for the District's fitness operations. This position assists with the planning, coordination, scheduling, organization, and daily operation of the fitness division while ensuring exceptional customer service and high-quality programming. The Fitness Lead works collaboratively with staff, instructors, contractors, personal trainers, and guests to maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming fitness environment. Responsibilities include assisting with group fitness programming, equipment management, instructor support, fitness scheduling, record keeping, contractor recruitment, and participant engagement. This position also serves as the lead instructor for assigned fitness programs and assists in expanding wellness opportunities for the community.

$18.00-$22.00/hour (Part-Time) 12-15 hours per week (Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Active Aging & Wellness Coordinator with the daily operation of the District's fitness division. Coordinate and maintain group fitness schedules and communicate schedule updates to instructors and participants. Serve as the secondary contact for making changes within the fitness scheduling software. Teach assigned group fitness classes and provide substitute instruction as needed. Serve as the instructor aide for Active Aging fitness classes and wellness programs. Develop, coordinate, and independently lead fitness and wellness programming for all ages. Research and recruit qualified contractors and instructors to expand District fitness offerings. Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing wellness programs, fitness events, and community special events. Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming fitness environment. Monitor fitness rooms and equipment to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety. Maintain equipment inventories and track equipment maintenance, warranties, repairs, and replacement schedules. Assist with ordering equipment parts, supplies, and minor fitness purchases within approved budgets. Recommend new equipment, programming, and wellness initiatives based on industry trends and community needs. Maintain instructor personnel records, certifications, liability insurance, contracts, and required documentation. Track certification expiration dates and communicate renewal requirements with instructors and personal trainers. Maintain accurate personal training records and update client information within Glofox, including adjustments to packages and participant records. Assist participants with fitness memberships, personal training information, class recommendations, and general wellness inquiries. Respond promptly and professionally to participant questions, concerns, and feedback. Provide exceptional customer service while promoting District fitness opportunities. Maintain accurate attendance records, reports, inventories, and program documentation. Assist with registration and setup of new fitness programs and special events. Stay current with industry trends in group fitness, personal training, wellness coaching, and Active Aging programming. Attend required District meetings, trainings, certifications, and professional development opportunities. Respond appropriately to emergencies, administer CPR/First Aid when certified, and complete incident reports. Assist with setup, teardown, and organization of equipment for classes, events, and programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older. One to three years of experience in fitness, recreation, wellness, personal training, or group fitness. Experience coordinating programs, schedules, or fitness operations preferred. Strong customer service and organizational skills required. Experience working with recreation software such as Glofox, ANET or similar systems preferred. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology, Wellness, or related field preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Current nationally accredited Group Fitness and/or Personal Training Certification required or ability to obtain within three months. CPR, AED, First Aid and Blood Born Pathogen Certification required or ability to obtain within three months. Valid Colorado Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of current fitness, personal training, wellness coaching, and Active Aging best practices. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to coordinate multiple schedules and priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of fitness equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures. Ability to organize inventories, records, certifications, and equipment tracking systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and contractors. Ability to recruit and develop new programming opportunities. Ability to teach safe and effective group fitness classes for a variety of ages and abilities. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with participants. Ability to adapt programming for various fitness levels. Ability to maintain confidential personnel and participant records. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and recreation management software. Ability to recognize safety hazards and enforce District policies. Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and complete incident documentation. Ability to maintain required certifications and professional standards.

Pay:
