The Hanover Park Park District is seeking energetic, dependable, and caring Before & After School Camp Counselors to create a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children before and after the school day. We are hiring primarily for before-school shifts and strongly prefer candidates who can work both before and after school programs. This position is ideal for individuals who are reliable, enjoy working with children, and are ready to start their day early while making a positive impact in the community. Schedule This position is generally Monday through Friday and follows the calendars of School District U-46 and Schaumburg Township District 54. Before School Program Approximately 5:30 AM - 8:30 AM After School Program Approximately 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM Hours are approximate and may vary based on enrollment, staffing needs, and school schedules. When local schools are not in session, regular before and after school programs do not operate. What You'll Do Provide active supervision to ensure participant safety and well-being Lead games, crafts, sports, enrichment activities, and group recreation Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful program environment Build positive relationships with participants, families, and staff Enforce program rules and safety procedures consistently Track attendance and maintain participant accountability Respond appropriately to behavioral concerns and incidents Assist with program setup, organization, and cleanup Serve as a positive representative of the Hanover Park Park District Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required Ability to pass required background screenings Dependable, punctual, and reliable Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Positive attitude and strong customer service skills Ability to supervise children in active indoor and outdoor environments Early morning availability is strongly preferred Who Should Apply?
