Job Description
After-School Camp Counselor Position Please note: all application questions and the skills test must be completed for a candidate to be considered. Legacy is looking for energetic, friendly, and dependable people to help bring our after-school sports program to hundreds of children in the Oak Park, River Forest, and Riverside Area. Our camp counselors lead after-school youth sports programs at our partnering elementary schools and community organizations.•Activities consist of multisport and gym games, including soccer, kickball, variations of tag, floor hockey, dodgeball, and capture the flag. Staff members will learn our curriculum of games through paid training. Group sizes range from eight to 18 children. Each location has at least two staff members assigned, dependent upon registration numbers. Camps are grouped by grade level, and the age range of all of our students is from 5-12 years old. Position Duties and Expectations Provide a safe, positive, fun, and welcoming environment for children and staff Correspond politely and professionally with parents regarding updates, attendance, changes, behavior, etc. Be punctual and report on time to assigned location before or as soon as the scheduled shift begins. This is vital since staff members will be responsible for a group of children. Work cooperatively with a partner staff member Keep children engaged and active while modeling the same expectations Qualifications and Experience Requirements Please note that the Indeed skills test and all application questions must be completed for a candidate to be considered. Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background/fingerprinting check Must have access to a reliable vehicle/transportation Must be able to work weekday shifts starting between 2:15 and 3:00 pm. Shifts are approximately 1.5 hours. Candidates must be available to work 3-5 weekdays each week beginning as soon as possible. ( Must be available
