Job Description

The student assistant serves as one of the main event supports for Campus Activities and Events. These activities will include efforts such as Falcons After Dark, Weeks of Welcome, Residence Hall Programs, and more. This assistant will support in preparing for and executing events across campus.
Career Readiness Competencies :
Participate in campus training or workshops to build skills. Adjust tone and approach based on audience (e.g., peers vs. supervisors). Use appropriate grammar, punctuation, and formatting in written work. Analyze problems and propose practical solutions. Follow university guidelines related to respectful behavior and anti-harassment. Work as part of the Student Engagement-Campus Activities team which includes planning, attending, and supporting events. At least 2 events per month, hours will fluctuate based on the event schedule, which will be shared at the start of onboarding. Collaborate with BGSU Campus Partners to facilitate activities within events Support in planning upcoming event opportunities that are current and of interest to the student population Strong organization skills and attention to detail High level of customer service Ability to work on a team and autonomously Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to critically think and make decisions autonomously Basic knowledge of Social Media Marketing Basic experience in event programming
Preferred:
has lived in on-campus housing one full academic year.
Preferred:
Tourism, Hospitality, Event Management student. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student on BGSU Main Campus Must have completed at least one academic semester at BGSU Must have and maintain, a 2.5 term and cumulative GPA
