JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Sports Director or assigned supervisor, the Sports Crew is responsible for supporting YMCA sports programs through facility setup, equipment management, participant engagement, and on-site supervision during games and activities. This role ensures programs run safely, smoothly, and in alignment with YMCA policies, customer service standards, and youth development values. Sports Crew members are front-line representatives of the YMCA and play a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for participants, families, and staff across all sports programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(not a complete list): Prepare, monitor, and reset gyms, fields, and courts for scheduled sports programs and events.

Maintain cleanliness of program areas during and after activities, including light custodial tasks such as trash removal and floor care as needed.

Support positive interactions with youth, coaches, officials, and spectators; address concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.

Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.

Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff.

Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.

Abide by the YMCA's four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.

Other duties as assigned
Required:
Must be at least 16 years of age.

Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with youth, families, and staff.

Experience participating in, assisting with, or supporting organized sports or physical activity programs.

Current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Certification (will provide upon hire)
Preferred:
Bilingual - English/SpanishExperience coaching, officiating, or supporting youth sports programs (e.g., basketball, soccer, flag football, or similar).
