All positions are on-site, located in Tyler, Texas, unless otherwise stated in the job posting. ABOUT The Student Assistant provides support to the professional staff of the Apache Recreation Center. Student Assistant positions are subject to a maximum of 18 hours per week.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Greet students, faculty and patrons to make them feel welcome in our facility. Maintain cleanliness and organization of supplies in designated work area. Check in students, faculty and continuing studies students entering the facility. Answer main phone line for facility. Provide information regarding facility, continuing studies classes and other offerings. Be familiar with all aspects of facility operations. Ensure timeliness for each shift and find coverage if unavailable. Complete all tasks assigned in an accurate, prompt and thorough manner. Any other duties assigned by the Director, Apache Recreation Center, Manager, and Rec Sports CoordinatorCOMPETENCIES
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to maintain friendly, inviting personality. Excellent customer service and people skills. Possess sound judgement and strong organizational skills. Willingness to learn, adapt and think for self. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook preferred. Motivated to bring excellence to Tyler Junior College team.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Students must be registered for undergraduate classes and maintain enrollment status to work in these positions. Students may qualify for Federal Work Study, which will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Additional Job-Specific Requirements Students are allowed to work a maximum of eighteen (18) hours per week and cannot work in multiple hourly positions. A work week is Monday-Sunday.
