Job Description
The Recreation Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned recreation programs and activities. A major component of this role involves developing lesson plans and goals for each program session, focusing on skill development, engagement, and enjoyment for all participants. Additionally, this role includes supervising staff and volunteers, ensuring program quality and safety, and creating engaging lesson plans to enhance participant experiences. The Program Supervisor plays a key role in promoting positive interactions among participants and fostering a welcoming environment. This position will remain open until all positions are filled. Program Oversight Supervise daily operations of recreation programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and program guidelines. Develop lesson plans and goals for each program session, focusing on skill development, engagement, and enjoyment for all participants. Implement program curricula that promote physical activity, teamwork, and personal growth. Evaluate and adjust lesson plans as needed to accommodate varying skill levels and participant needs. Staff and Volunteer Management Help train, supervise, and support staff and volunteers, fostering a positive team environment. Assign responsibilities and delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth program delivery. Provide feedback and conduct performance evaluations for team members. Provide staff evaluations to the Recreation Supervisor. Participant Engagement Create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all participants. Facilitate positive interactions among participants, encouraging teamwork and good sportsmanship. Address participant and parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally. Customer Service Serve as the main point of contact for participants and parents, providing information and assistance as needed. Direct participants and parents to the appropriate personnel for questions or concerns beyond your scope. Facility & Equipment Management Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and readily available for use during programs. Oversee the setup and breakdown of facilities before and after activities, ensuring they are clean and organized. Inform the Recreation Supervisor of damaged equipment or the need for additional equipment. Safety & Compliance Ensure all programs comply with health, safety, and emergency procedures. Administer first aid and respond to emergencies as necessary. Document any incidents, accidents, or participant injuries and report them to the Recreation Supervisor promptly. Perform other duties related to the program as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor Education/Training/Certifications Completed at least 2 years of high school 16+years old Knowledge, Skills,& Abilities Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Abilitytoworkindependentlyandhandlemultipletasksinafast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by program schedules. Environmental Adaptability Physicaldemandsmayincludeliftingupto30pounds, standing for extended periods, and walking around the facility. Primarily works on-site at recreation centers, parks, and other community facilities.
