Job Description

About Ramblehorn Cafe Ramblehorn Cafe is a locally owned rustic breakfast and lunch café focused on scratch-made food, genuine hospitality, and building a strong team culture. We believe the best kitchens are built on hard work, respect, consistency, and leaders who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves. We're looking for an experienced Head Chef to become the culinary leader of our kitchen. Overview This is a working chef position—not a role where you'll spend the day in the office or supervising from the sidelines. Our Head Chef is expected to cook. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team every day, serving as one of the primary cooks on the line during our busiest breakfast and lunch services. Leadership is earned through execution, not observation. Ramblehorn Cafe will be your primary kitchen and daily responsibility. Beyond Ramblehorn, you'll also become part of the culinary leadership team for HOTT Hospitality , collaborating with chefs from our other restaurant concepts, contributing to seasonal menu development, assisting with companywide culinary initiatives, supporting occasional dinners and catering events, and helping develop future restaurant concepts. Qualifications We're looking for someone who enjoys both cooking and leading people.
Preferred qualifications include:
Strong professional cooking experience, particularly breakfast and lunch service Previous experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or similar leadership role Ability to lead, motivate, train, and hold a kitchen team accountable Strong understanding of prep systems, recipe execution, consistency, and food quality Experience with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and food-cost controls Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient during high-volume service Excellent communication and leadership skills Reliable, professional, hardworking, and hands-on Comfortable working directly with ownership Comfortable developing recipes, systems, and written kitchen procedures Willingness to collaborate with chefs from other restaurant concepts ServSafe Manager Certification (preferred or willingness to obtain) Schedule & Availability This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexibility based on business needs. Our chefs don't simply manage kitchens—they help build them. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at Ramblehorn Cafe while collaborating with talented chefs across our organization, contributing to new dining concepts, and helping shape the future of our growing hospitality company.
