Location:
On-site (Weston, CT)
Schedule:
Flexible weekday mornings/mid-days (e.g., Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate ($25-$35/hr, based on experience) Role Overview We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and highly proactive Family House Manager to help keep our active household running smoothly. This role is ideal for a sharp, hands-on professional, recent graduate, or experienced personal assistant who excels at execution, thrives on organization, and loves checking items off a daily list. You will act as the operational "right hand" for two busy working parents—handling everything from daily physical house resets and closet organization to running errands and managing contractor logistics. Note on
Scope:
This position focuses on household administration, organization, and daily logistics. It does not include deep house cleaning (we have a professional cleaning team 1x per week) or primary childcare (we have a dedicated au pair). Key Responsibilities The below are primary examples but is not a comprehensive list - the role will be very dynamic with our needs. 1.
Household Organization & Physical Resets Space Optimization:
Continuously organize, declutter, and optimize key high-traffic areas (e.g. basement playroom, mudroom/entryway, kitchen pantry, master closet, and garage).
Wardrobe Management:
Rotate seasonal clothing and shoes for family; handle donation runs and hand-me-down sorting.
Daily Tidy & Reset:
Keep common areas neat, unpack packages, break down boxes, and handle general daily surface resets (wiping counters, loading/unloading dishwasher, folding family laundry as needed). 2.
Logistics, Admin & Errand Running Errands & Purchasing:
Manage weekly grocery shopping/restocking, store returns (Amazon, UPS, retail), prescriptions, and hardware store runs.
Kid Admin Support:
Assist with kid calendar logistics, scheduling pediatric/dental appointments, tracking school activity forms, and ordering supplies or apparel.
Special Home Projects:
Source options for minor home improvements (e.g., researching curtain rods, finding hardware), order items, and oversee execution. 3.
Contractor & Vendor Oversight Vendor Coordination:
Serve as the on-site point of contact for service providers (landscapers, handyman, power washers, tree removal services, home repair technicians).
Project Tracking:
Schedule appointments, gather quotes, wait for service windows, and ensure projects are completed to standard.
Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Profile Action-Oriented Executer:
Highly proactive with a "no task too small" attitude. Happy to roll up your sleeves for physical organizing and errands one hour, and manage digital calendars the next.
Tech-Savvy & Structured:
Comfortable using shared digital tools (Google Calendar, Google Drive, shared notes, WhatsApp) to communicate asynchronously.
Self-Motivated:
Able to walk into the home, spot what needs to be done, prioritize tasks independently, and execute without micromanagement.
Reliable Transportation:
Must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a reliable personal vehicle for local errands (mileage reimbursed).
Discreet & Respectful:
Strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, and comfort working in a busy home environment alongside other household support. About Our Family We are a welcoming, active family living in a 4-bedroom home in Weston, CT.
The Parents:
We are two busy working professionals—Matt works for a venture capital firm in Westport and Allie is a local school teacher in Westport. Because our professional lives are fast-paced, we value a well-organized, smooth-running home where we can focus on family time when we aren't working.
The Kids:
We have three active, fun young kids who keep us on our toes with school, sports, and activities. A 7 year old girl, 6 year old boy, and 3 year old boy
The Household Team:
We live with a wonderful full-time au pair who focuses on the kids' daily care and routines, and we hire a professional cleaning crew 1x per week. You will be an essential part of our household team, working collaboratively with us to keep the operational side of our lives seamless.
Pets:
We have a friendly, small Labradoodle Rafi who is very much part of the family (we may ask for basic help with him like walks or giving a bath). How to Apply If you are an organized, reliable problem-solver who loves bringing order to busy lives, we'd love to hear from you! Please submit your resume along with a short note introducing yourself and highlighting your relevant experience.
Pay:
