Position SummaryThe Assistant General Manager supports day-to-day food service operations at a district level. This includes managing staff, maintaining food quality and safety standards, ensuring client satisfaction, and achieving operational goals related to labor, cost control, and service.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee food preparation and service to meet quality and portioning standardsSupport sales, customer service, and cleanliness goals through staff training and positive leadershipEnsure proper cash handling and compliance with company and district proceduresParticipate in hiring and termination decisions in partnership with the General ManagerCover operational roles as needed to support daily serviceBuild and develop team performance and leadership skillsMaintain communication with district clients and school administratorsEnsure food and supply deliveries meet expectations and policiesMonitor and support performance evaluations for staffSchedule team members based on labor goals and meal volumesPromote a friendly, responsive, and inclusive service environmentStay compliant with all health, safety, labor, and operational regulationsAssist with trainings, meetings, and administrative tasksEnsure sound financial practices and accountability across assigned sitesControl supply costs and assist short-staffed units when necessaryQualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or relevant vocational training (Bachelor?s degree preferred)Minimum 3 years of experience in food service and fresh food productionStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe AcrobatExperience with POS systems and online reporting tools preferredMust be able to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and MVR audit (driving required)Ability to manage independently and communicate with executive managementPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyRegularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use handsModerate noise level in the work environmentMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional extended weeksRequires driving and occasional attendance at company meetings or eventsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer (Gender/Minority/Veterans/Disabled) and participate with the federal E-Verify Employment Eligibility Program.
