General Manager - Hawksnest Snow Tubing & Zipline Job Summary Hawksnest is seeking an energetic, experienced General Manager to lead one of the Southeast's premier outdoor adventure destinations. Located in the mountains of Seven Devils, North Carolina, Hawksnest offers one of the region's largest snow tubing operations along with an exciting zipline experience. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building great teams, creating memorable guest experiences, and running a dynamic seasonal business. The General Manager will oversee the overall performance of Hawksnest, including operations, safety, staffing, guest experience, sales, facilities, and financial results. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys being part of the action, and can balance operational excellence with a fun, welcoming atmosphere for both guests and employees. Responsibilities Lead the overall day-to-day operation of Hawksnest's snow tubing, zipline, guest services, sales, retail, food and beverage, parking, and supporting operations. Recruit, train, develop, and lead a strong team of managers, supervisors, and seasonal employees. Create an engaging workplace culture built around teamwork, accountability, safety, and outstanding guest service. Ensure operations are properly staffed and prepared for changing guest volumes, weather conditions, and peak periods. Maintain high standards for safety, facility appearance, operational efficiency, and guest experience. Oversee snow tubing operations, including snowmaking, tubing lanes, conveyors/lifts, guest flow, and winter operating conditions. Ensure zipline operations meet established training, inspection, maintenance, and safety standards. Monitor reservations, capacity, sales, pricing, labor, and operating expenses to achieve financial goals and maximize business opportunities. Develop and manage operating budgets while identifying opportunities to grow revenue and improve efficiency. Oversee scheduling, payroll review, purchasing, inventory, cash handling, and other key operating controls. Coordinate maintenance and preventive maintenance of buildings, grounds, attractions, vehicles, and equipment. Ensure company policies, operating procedures, safety standards, and required documentation are consistently followed. Respond effectively to guest concerns, operational challenges, weather events, and other situations that arise in a seasonal outdoor business. Work closely with company leadership on budgeting, marketing, capital improvements, operational planning, and growth initiatives. Build positive relationships with local businesses, tourism partners, vendors, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Qualifications Proven management experience with responsibility for people, operations, and business performance. Experience in outdoor recreation, attractions, hospitality, ski areas, snow tubing, ziplining, or other guest-focused businesses is strongly preferred. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success recruiting, training, motivating, and developing employees. Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with budgeting, labor management, purchasing, scheduling, and financial performance. Comfortable using reservation, POS, scheduling, and standard business systems. Ability to make sound decisions and remain effective in a fast-moving, weather-dependent environment. Willingness to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak periods as required by the business.
