Abernethy Laurels is a compassionate and resident-focused long-term care facility dedicated to providing high-quality care and a home-like environment for our residents. We believe that mealtimes are a vital part of daily life, offering both nourishment and community. We are currently seeking a Dining Room Manager who is passionate about hospitality, senior care, and team leadership to oversee dining operations and ensure a positive mealtime experience for all. Position Summary The Dining Room Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the dining room experience for our residents. This includes supervising dining staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, coordinating with dietary and nursing teams, and maintaining a high level of service and resident satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day dining room operations, ensuring smooth meal service for all residents Supervise, train, and schedule dining room staff (servers, dietary aides, etc.) Collaborate with the dietary manager and kitchen staff to ensure meals are served correctly, timely, and according to residents' dietary needs Ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation of the dining room and service areas Respond promptly and professionally to resident and family concerns or feedback Monitor dining room supplies and equipment, report maintenance needs Maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations Assist in planning and executing special meals or events Uphold dignity, respect, and quality of life for all residents during meal services Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required), additional hospitality or food service management training a plus Minimum of 2 years' experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or hospitality setting Supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of dietary restrictions and health codes related to long-term care dining Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with compassion and patience ServSafe certification or ability to obtain (preferred) Why Join Us?
