GENERAL MANAGER MIDWAY BOWL
| Job Description Reports to: Integrator, Mowery Entertainment Job Summary The General Manager oversees daily operations at Midway Bowl, ensuring all aspects of the business—entertainment, food and beverage, and property maintenance—are running efficiently. This role focuses on staff management, customer experience, financial oversight, and maintaining a clean, safe, and profitable facility. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Ensure all areas (bowling, bar, kitchen) are operating efficiently. Oversee facility cleanliness, maintenance, and exterior upkeep. Be present during peak revenue hours — evenings and weekends are mandatory. Office and administrative duties may be performed during off-peak hours. Enforce all standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain high performance and compliance. Maintain an exceptional customer experience by handling concerns and ensuring a great atmosphere. Staff Leadership & HR Duties Hire, train, evaluate, and — when necessary — terminate employees. All terminations must be approved by the Integrator at Mowery Entertainment prior to execution. Conduct regular 1:1 check-ins with team members (brief conversations are sufficient; formal meetings are not required) and quarterly all-staff meetings. Ensure all employees adhere to uniform and punctuality policies. Handle disciplinary actions per company policies. Financial & Administrative Duties Manage inventory, ordering, and financial transactions (budgeting, payroll, petty cash, etc.). Track Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) on a regular basis, including food cost percentage, beverage cost percentage, and overall COGS as a percentage of revenue. Flag variances outside acceptable thresholds to the Integrator. Maintain and update a financial and sales journal on a weekly basis. Update weekly schedules and ensure proper staffing levels. Submit payroll bi-weekly and manage employee records. Ensure compliance with licensing, safety regulations, and operational procedures. Marketing & Business Development The GM serves as a contributing voice in marketing and business development — on-the-ground observations and input are encouraged and valued. All marketing strategies, campaigns, and business development decisions are made and approved by Mowery Entertainment. The GM is responsible for executing approved initiatives at the property level and ensuring staff supports those efforts. Reporting & Compliance Provide weekly reports on financials, inventory, and operational metrics. Maintain audit-ready documentation and strive for an "A" audit score. Submit invoices with appropriate approvals and maintain all required records. Mandatory Expectations Work a minimum of 50 hours per week, with at least 45 of those hours on-property during open business hours. Presence during peak revenue hours (evenings,weekends and holidays) are required, not optional. Maintain an updated financial and sales journal. Timely responses to emails, calls, and leadership requests. Ensure all employees complete necessary certifications and training. The GM must hold and maintain current RAMP (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) and ServSafe certifications prior to or within 60 days of start date. Qualifications & Requirements Leadership experience in hospitality, entertainment, or food & beverage. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Proficiency in managing budgets, inventory, and team performance. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. RAMP and ServSafe certifications required (or must be obtained within 60 days of hire). Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and performing active job duties. Performance & Accountability A 90-day introductory review will be conducted before transitioning to the standard quarterly review cadence. Performance will be reviewed quarterly based on operational success, COGS management, and audit results. Failure to maintain compliance or improve audit scores will result in a performance improvement plan. No contracts may be signed without approval from the Integrator or CEO at Mowery Entertainment.Pay:
