Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Manager who is ready to develop into a General Manager role . This position is intended for a proven QSR restaurant leader who understands that successful restaurant management goes beyond running shifts. The ideal candidate will work closely with ownership to grow sales, develop the management team, maintain Freddy's operating standards, and improve restaurant profitability through disciplined control of labor, food cost, waste, and other controllable expenses . The successful candidate will initially join as Assistant Manager and will be evaluated for promotion to General Manager based on demonstrated leadership, operational performance, and financial results . Experience & Qualifications Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience , preferably in Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or fast-casual operations. Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, General Manager, or comparable restaurant leadership position preferred. Proven experience working closely with restaurant ownership, franchisees, or senior leadership . Strong understanding of restaurant P&L and the relationship between sales, labor, food cost, and profitability. Demonstrated ability to control labor costs through effective scheduling, staffing, productivity, and deployment . Strong understanding of food cost management , including inventory, portion control, waste reduction, ordering, and food variance. Manage daily restaurant operations and ensure compliance with Freddy's operational and food safety standards. Build schedules based on projected sales while maintaining appropriate labor levels. Monitor labor throughout each shift and make real-time staffing adjustments when necessary. Control food costs through accurate ordering, inventory management, portion control, waste reduction, and proper food preparation. Review sales, labor, food cost, discounts, waste, and other key operating metrics with ownership. Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary operating expenses without sacrificing food quality, service, cleanliness, or the guest experience . Recruit, train, coach, and develop a dependable management and hourly team. Hold managers and team members accountable for performance and restaurant standards. Improve drive-thru and front-counter speed, accuracy, hospitality, and overall guest satisfaction. Maintain proper inventory levels and ensure accurate weekly/monthly inventory counts. Help increase sales through excellent operations, local store marketing, repeat business, and strong community relationships. Protect company assets and ensure proper cash-handling, food-safety, security, and closing procedures. Communicate directly with ownership regarding restaurant performance, staffing challenges, maintenance issues, and opportunities for improvement. Path to General Manager This position is designed for a candidate who wants to earn promotion to General Manager . Promotion will be based on the candidate's ability to demonstrate consistent performance in the following areas:
Leadership & Staffing:
Build a reliable management and hourly team, improve retention, develop future leaders, and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Labor Management:
Effectively schedule and deploy employees based on sales volume while maintaining service standards and controlling labor expense.
Food Cost:
Maintain strong inventory controls, reduce waste and over-portioning, improve ordering accuracy, and consistently manage food cost.
Sales & Guest Experience:
Deliver excellent food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, speed, and accuracy while helping grow restaurant traffic and repeat business.
Profitability:
Work closely with ownership to understand the restaurant P&L and take ownership of controllable expenses and store-level profitability.
Accountability:
Operate the restaurant with an ownership mentality—identifying problems early, taking corrective action, and accepting responsibility for results. What We Are Looking For We are looking for more than a shift manager. We want a business-minded restaurant operator who understands that a General Manager is responsible for both the guest experience and the financial performance of the restaurant.
Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 54.0 per week
