FOOD AND BEVERAGE DIRECTOR

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are recruiting for a Full Time Food and Beverage Director for (Boulevards Restaurant, Daily Grind coffee shop and Catering Department). Responsibilities include directing and organizing the activities of the Food and Beverage Department. Ensure a consistently high-quality food product while at the same time developing the employees and driving a positive work environment. Ensure that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the standards, goals and objectives of the Sun City Palm Desert Community Association.

SOME DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following: Other duties are assigned. Develops service procedures. Develops and effective training program. Ensures effective training for all Food & Beverage employees. Ensures proper ordering and purchasing of service supplies and may recommend equipment for the bar and dining facilities. Assists in scheduling employees and planning of dining set up based on anticipated resident/guest counts and customer needs; makes appropriate employee schedule changes as required. Assists with the maintenance of written procedures regarding personal hygiene and proper handling of perishable food product. These procedures are to follow local, county, state and federal regulations. Assists in inspecting employees to ensure they are in proper uniform at all times. Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverages, and service. Directs Food & Beverage meetings. Ensures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of event venues, equipment, and fixtures. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining venues and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns. Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's - At least five (5) years of progressive experience in a Food & Beverage related industry a two (2) year college degree is preferred and three (3) or more years of related experience. Or a four (4) year college degree and at least one (1) to two (2) years of related experience. SCPDCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.
