Responsibilities Manage daily food service operations, including food production, menu planning, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. Conduct patient assessments to develop individualized care plans that meet nutritional needs and support overall health goals. Oversee food safety management practices, ensuring compliance with food service health code regulations and policies. Implement and monitor budget management strategies to optimize resource utilization while maintaining quality standards. Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of care plans, dietary assessments, and progress notes. Coordinate with clinical staff to evaluate diagnostic results, manage tube feeding protocols, and adjust nutrition plans accordingly. Lead training initiatives on health regulation policies, food safety procedures, and best practices in dietetics and clinical nutrition. Oversee food production processes to ensure timely delivery of nutritious meals that meet specific dietary requirements, including acute care needs. Maintain detailed records of dietary department activities, audits, and compliance reports to support continuous improvement efforts. Skills Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care settings with a strong understanding of patient assessment and care planning. Expertise in managing food service teams, supervising staff, and leading dietary departments effectively. In-depth knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety management and healthcare standards. Strong background in clinical nutrition, dietetics, physiology, and acute care nutrition practices. Skilled in managing budgets, food production processes, and implementing cost-effective strategies without compromising quality. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to dietary care. Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management, staff development, and fostering a positive work environment. Experience with tube feeding protocols, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and developing comprehensive care plans. Knowledge of food service health code compliance requirements specific to healthcare facilities. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while providing health coaching that encourages healthy lifestyle choices.
