Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Winery Tasting Room Shift Leader to assist in overseeing daily operations within our vibrant tasting room. This leadership role is vital in creating memorable experiences for our guests by ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth workflow, and efficient team management. As a Tasting Room Lead you will be the driving force behind maintaining high standards of hospitality, food and beverage service, and operational excellence. Your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire your team to deliver outstanding service while upholding safety and quality standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within the hospitality and wine industry, contributing to a dynamic and welcoming environment. Preference will be given to applicants with a marketing/creative background and experience doing events. Responsibilities Assist Tasting Room Manager in both serving guests as well as leading tasting room staff during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies Help manage POS systems such as Toast POS for accurate cash handling, sales processing, and inventory control Help prepare for events in our tasting room and assist in administrative tasks as needed Monitor inventory levels of wine, food items, and supplies; coordinate with manager for replenishment when necessary Handle guest inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive experience for all visitors Assist in cleaning duties as required Skills Proven experience in wine tasting room leadership, restaurant or hospitality leadership, or supervising hospitality teams Strong knowledge of POS systems including Toast POS; proficient in cash handling and basic math skills Background in Marketing or Creative Skills (knowledge of social media, Canva a huge plus!) Willingness to Learn Knowledge of event coordination and/or leadership Demonstrated leadership skills in leading teams and training staff Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests and team members Familiarity with food safety standards, food handling procedures, and health regulations in a hospitality setting Starting rate is between $15-18 hourly
