2 Description American Traveler is hiring an Infection Control Program Manager (RN) for a 13-week Level 1 trauma hospital assignment requiring CIC certification and a CO or compact RN license. Details Acute care setting at a Level 1 trauma hospital Infection Control Program Manager role covering all patient care areas including inpatient, emergency department, surgery, procedural, and ambulatory departments Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day with flexible start and stop times, in by 0830 at the latest Occasional weekend review of construction activity required No holiday work required No call or standby requirement Uses Epic EMR Initially the only Infection Preventionist in the department until additional full-time staff are hired Requirements Active CO or Compact RN license currently in hand BLS certification (AHA) required Certified in Infection Control (CIC) required 4+ years of experience required BSN required, with degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, medical technology, or related healthcare field Prior CIC experience required, former leadership experience preferred Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Copy of driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include device rounding, environment of care (EOC) rounding, and healthcare-associated and device-related infection surveillance Conducts surgical site infection (SSI) surveillance and monitors communicable disease activity Performs regular rounding across procedural, inpatient, and ED areas and participates in daily safety huddles at 0830 May assist in orienting newly hired infection prevention staff, though not in a supervisory capacity Unit-specific orientation provided in collaboration with quality department and regional infection prevention leadership Must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely RNs wear navy scrubs; non-RNs wear black scrubs, with business casual attire standard and scrubs worn a day or two per week Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility Subject to a float radius policy requiring travelers to float within their hired zone and secure housing accordingly
