- Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of tables and chairs in the dining room.
- Assist cooks in the preparation of fruits, desserts and salads.
- Cleaning of dining room beverage machines including but not limited to cappuccino machine, coffee machine, iced tea machine and juice machine.
- Prepare and serve snacks at 10am and 3 pm in designated locations and residents that are in their rooms.
- Ensure that hot foods are served hot such as soups, main course and coffee, and cold food served cold such as salads, sandwiches and desserts.
- Serve all drinks in a glass of ice unless another preference is given by the resident.
- Ensure that meals are served in a timely and presentable manner.
- Refill cappuccino, coffee, and juice dispensers as needed, including condiments such as creamer, sugar, tea, hot cocoa, crackers, salt and pepper shakers.
- Ensure that silverware (forks, knives, spoons, etc) are clean when setting up the table.
- Sweep and mop the floor, vacuum the carpet thoroughly and empty the trash can.
- Clean food carts, wash and fold napkins.
- Assist residents on their seats. Ask for assistance if too heavy to push close to the table so not to strain yourself. Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Follow the "Standard of Food Service" by wearing neat and clean uniform and apron.
- Be a team player! Assist all staff when needed.
- Properly secure the dining room by following the end of day check off list for food server.
- Food Handlers Card.
- Complete tasks as directed by the cook on duty and Food Services Director.
